The oil and gas training provider PetroSkills is set to further its operations across the United States and beyond with the acquisition of PetrEX International, it has been confirmed.
According to a statement released by the Oklahoma-based firm, the move will help it to meet the soaring demand for skilled oil and gas workers across the globe, with the company already providing 1,000 public and in-house training sessions each year.
Commenting on the deal, J Ford Brett, managing director of PetroSkills, as well as chief executive of parent company OGCI, explained: "PetrEX products and services fit beautifully into the growing needs that we see in Well Construction and other disciplines within the PetroSkills alliance.
"Their balance of technical and interpersonal skills development with strong links between the office and the rig floor adds a critical dimension to PetroSkills," he told Oil Voice.
The takeover comes as the Vancouver Sun has reported that a number of oil and gas companies in Canada are now taking their education schemes 'on the road' in a bid to attract new workers and provide them with the skills necessary to work in the industry.
