ExxonMobil has announced that 75 non-profit organisations will be taking part in this year's Community Summer Jobs Programme (CSJP), which kicked off in Dallas earlier this week.
The organisation will be providing funding for the administrative costs of the internship programme and will also be paying the salaries of those taking part.
The CSJP is now in its 19th year in Dallas and its 38th year nationally. The number of groups taking part in the scheme has grown once more for the 2009 programme, with ten more non-profit organisations getting involved.
Robert Lanyon, manager for corporate citizenship and community investments at ExxonMobil, commented: "The ExxonMobil CSJP is much more than a paycheque or a summer job, it is an opportunity for our community to interact with the leaders of tomorrow and [to] encourage them in their careers and futures."
ExxonMobil also celebrated the 2009 Community Champions at the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday (June 2nd), with the awards celebrating two CJSP alumni who have gone on to serve in the non-profit sector.
