The American Right of Way Association (ARWA) has announced that it will be holding a training and development programme in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 29th.
Designed to support the development of the Hayneville Shale, the new training module is open to local ARWA associates and will cover subjects such as title examination, engineering, pipeline construction and negotiations.
Don Valden, chief executive of the organisation, said that the training programme will build upon the success of schemes supporting the Barnett Shale play.
"Our training has allowed hundreds of people to break into an industry that was once based on who you know, not what you know. It has been our experience with our clients that those days are behind us," he said.
Preliminary research at the Haynesville Shale has shown that the total gas reserves could match those seen at the Barnett Shale, which is expected to hold between 29 and 39 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, making it one of the biggest plays in US history.
