The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco) will award $12 billion in new contracts over the next seven years to increase sustainable oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day, it has been announced.
Speaking at a press conference in the UAE capital yesterday, Adco's general manager Abdul Munem Saif Al Kindi said the company has awarded around $6 billion worth of contracts since 2009.
His comments followed the award of a new $560.5 million contract to the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) for phase one onshore development of the Qusawhira field.
"The project scope includes construction of new central degassing station, remote degassing station, oil gathering system, production support systems and the main oil line to Asab field," the company claimed.
Mr Al Kindi praised NPCC for its technical expertise and efficiency of operations. The company, established in 1973, has invested heavily in training and development to support its growth and offers a host of classroom-based and e-learning training programmes.
