Offshore helicopter services firm Aerogulf is expanding its base of operations beyond the oil and gas industry in support of Dubai's infrastructural development.
Aviation Week reports that the company, which was formed in the 1970s to support the oil sector in Dubai and has grown to become the second largest helicopter operator in the Middle East, is now offering civil flight services and offering support for the burgeoning construction industry.
So too, Abu Dhabi Aviation, which is the biggest operator in the Gulf, has also repositioned itself to serve additional sectors in addition to the oil and gas industry in the United Arab Emirates.
In response to this growing demand for helicopter services, Jeff Roberts, group president for innovation, civil training and services at CAE, told Aviation Week that the company is looking to expand on its current helicopter training course options.
CAE is a global supplier of specialised training simulation services for both military and civil aviation sectors, including the offshore oil and gas industry.
