The board members of Angola's National Oil Institute were sworn in at a ceremony held yesterday (March 5th).
Angolan news agency ANGOP has learnt that the country's oil minister Botelho de Vasconcelos was in attendance to oversee the inauguration of the three directors.
These were the institute's director-general, Domingos Francisco, pedagogical director Alegria Raul Joaquim and the administrative director Jorge Manuel de Matos Gouveia.
Mr de Vasconcelos highlighted the key role that the institute will play in providing jobs for Angolans looking to work in the oil and gas industry.
"I believe that the new managing board is ready for the challenges towards giving continuity to training of technicians," he said in an address to attendees.
Last month, Paragon Angola announced that it will be working with international oil companies and national educational institutions to increase the number of Angolan engineers working in the oil and gas industry.
Among those collaborating are the University of Houston and the University Agostinho Neto.
