The Oil & Gas Academy's (Opito) intake for its Modern Apprenticeship scheme is now complete.
All 87 trainees started the course on 1st September as they begin a four-year programme.
The scheme includes two years in college and a further two years working on a work site training with an industry company.
For this year's new pupils, four disciplines will be covered including process technicians, electrical technicians, instrument technicians and mechanical technicians.
A total of 1,284 people applied for a position on the course, of which 632 were selected for an aptitude test.
Following this test, 274 were asked to attend an interview.
Opito congratulated the new intake and wished them the best of luck for the future.
The oil and gas academy claims that a skilled workforce in the industry is essential for the success of the UK continental shelf and that 380,000 work in extraction from the area.
