Specialist oil and gas industry training provider Atlas Interactive has launched a major new contract to provide training for the UK offshore sector.

In a statement yesterday (April 1st), the company confirmed that it has achieved accreditation from Opito - The Oil and Gas Academy and Step Change in Safety to deliver Minimum Industry Safety Training to the UK oil and gas industry.

It is expected that the new training standard will help save the sector around £10 million over alternative training methods.

Underpinning the new course is a technology named FAST TRACK, which Atlas Interactive chief executive Jamie Bennett described as being "very much a product for the current economic climate where a low oil price is placing pressure on employers to cut costs".

The FAST TRACK system works by assessing individual students' knowledge gaps under time-bound conditions in order to shape their training schedule and ensure they are not covering topics they are already grounded in.
