BG Group has been commended by the Foreign Investors' Council (FIC) of Kazakhstan for its commitment to diversification of the country's economy.
The company was celebrated as the best foreign investor in Kazakhstan for 2008, with the FIC president Nursultan Nazarbayev celebrating 16 years of close cooperation between BG and the country.
Accepting the award, BG chief executive officer Frank Chapman insisted that the company is committed to continued investment in economic diversification in the coming years.
The company's training and development program is focused on sustained on-the-job education, while it also supports the pursuance of external qualifications to diversify and enhance its workers skills.
It also celebrates the cultural breadth of its workforce, which is constituted by 5,000 people from 65 different countries.
The company also commits to a programme of international transfers and assignments, allowing workers to learn new skills in the gas sector in other parts of the world.
