The oil industry in Andhra Pradesh, India, could benefit from recently announced plans to create new tie-ups between the UK's British Petroleum and US operator PetroTel.
According to the Economic Times, the state is exploring opportunities for collaboration with the UK and US oil industry players.
Meanwhile, government proposals to bid for oil blocks covered by the New
Exploration and Licensing Policy are also expected to be firmed up in the days to come.
These opportunities are being pursued through collaboration with state-owned petroleum firm Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.
Should PetroTel enter into an agreement for the Indian market, it will add to previous work in Oman and Indonesia, the Economic Times notes.
PetroTel asserts that its team features a combined experience within the oil industry of more than 1,000 years.
This encompasses work in the Far and Middle East, Europe, Russia, south Asia and the Americas, PetroTel adds.
