British Safety Services has announced the completion of an accredited training programme in Libya carried out in conjunction with Green Land Oil.
The new NEBOSH accredited training programme was attended by 16 delegates from major national and international oil companies operating in Libya, with training conducted at Green Land's state of the art science and research library in Tripoli.
The decision to host the training programme was made after a number of Libyan oil companies expressed interest in achieving internationally-accredited safety standards.
BSS managing director Pat McLoughlin said the company hopes the training partnership "heralds the way towards helping to raise the standard of health and safety training even higher in Libya".
BSS was established in 1990 and by 2008 it held 28 NEBOSH national general certificate courses. The company has plans to open two additional overseas offices in the coming months, strengthening a network of operations that currently includes Qatar, Dubai, Yemen and China.
