Bahrain's Bapco has entered into a partnership with the Institut Francais du Petrole (IFP) to increase manpower and improve skills in the national oil and gas sector.
According to Gulf Daily News, the agreement was signed by Bahrain's oil and gas affairs minister and chairman of the National Oil and Gas Authority Abdulhussain Mirza and the chief executive of the IFP Dominique Barthe.
Dr Mirza commented: "The benefits that Bapco will derive from the training services of the institute will contribute to empowering the company to enhance development and learning and training systems not only at the national level, but also at the regional level."
The agreement was made in accordance with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, which aims to establish Bahrain as a world-leading hub for training and research within the next two decades.
Over the last 18 months, Bahraini authorities have embarked on a number of initiatives that aim to improve flexibility and skills in the national workforce in line with the country's long-term growth strategy.
