One of Abu Dhabi's largest property developers has set out plans to build satellite Brighton College campuses in 12 countries including Oman, Vietnam, India and the UAE capital itself.
Chief of Bloom's new education and training arm said that Brighton had been chosen for its commitment to both academic excellence and a comprehensive educational and personal development of its pupils.
"We were also very impressed with the school's international outlook, exemplified by its decision in 2006 to make Mandarin Chinese a core part of the curriculum. We are linking up with one of the great secondary schools in the world," he added.
Richard Cairns, headmaster of the college, described the deal as potentially the largest single progression in the institutions 164-year history.
The school has made a demonstrable commitment to academic excellence, sports success and exemplary pastoral care.
Students attending the new senior colleges will be able to expect to have access to the house system, which provides a base for students during periods of recess throughout the day.
