Energy Solutions International (ESI) has announced that it will license its PipelineManager training simulation software to Buckeye Partners for use in training North American operation and control technicians.
Buckeye already uses ESI's leak detection software, and will use the new simulation suite to economise the training of technicians overseeing the 5,400 miles of pipeline under the company's control.
"The training simulator application helps significantly decrease the time required to train personnel," said ESI in a statement to investors.
In addition to its pipeline network, Buckeye also controls 67 refined-petroleum product terminals, and operates 2,400 miles of pipeline on behalf of major US producers.
ESI was founded in 1976 and provides specialist pipeline system training and control software for the global oil and gas industry.
Headquartered in Houston, it serves more than 250 clients in 45 countries across the globe. It also holds regional offices in United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, India, Singapore, China and Canada.
