Specialist global and marine energy services provider C-MAR has launched a new training syllabus that will help to address a skills shortfall in the hydraulics engineering sector and help firms reduce offshore downtime.
Working in conjunction with Tullos Training, the group has developed the new four-day learning programme to give maintenance staff a sound understanding of fluid power systems.
Andrew Macdonald, C-MAR's director of operations, said the company is well placed to identify and plug skills gaps that occur in the oil and gas industry because of its robust feedback and recruitment campaigns.
"We have tailored this programme specifically to target maintenance staff who are directly involved in break down, repair and fault finding in hydraulic systems so that key members of the workforce can identify and rectify problems quickly," he added.
C-MAR is currently running a recruitment campaign to service upstream roles ranging from desk foreman to barge master.
The company is also looking for marine technical superintendants, motormen, hydraulics engineers, safety coaches and second engineers.
