Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS) and Egypt's Oil & Gas Skills (OGS) have announced a major new training partnership intended to tackle the brain-drain in the global oil and gas industry.
Focusing particularly on enhancing local skills in the sector across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia, the partners will aim to address the skills outflow occurring as older, experienced workers enter retirement.
The founder and chief executive officer of CMCS Bassam Samman said that with the global oil and gas industry continuing to grow at an unprecedented pace, training providers need to tackle skills shortfalls head on to avert a major crisis.
"Highly-skilled and proficient workers have gone into retirement or have moved onto other opportunities, leaving the industry with young and inexperienced workers to run the business," he said.
OGS offers training programmes covering all major sectors of the industry, including upstream, downstream, health and safety and management and leadership.
