Ontario-based oil and gas training provider Capital Safety has announced that it has been given the all-clear from the Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) and will soon be launching a new fall prevention training programme.
The company will run the eight-week course from its training bases in Edmonton, Alberta, and Mississauga, Ontario later this month, it was confirmed.
Kenson Silverthorne, a training specialist who will be overseeing the training along with three other expert instructors, said the company was excited to be able to offer the new course.
"Our ability to provide accredited OSSA training will add real value to our oil sands customers who rely on Capital Safety to keep their workers safe," he added.
All employees working in the Fort McMurray oil sands industry must complete an OSSA-accredited fall prevention training course prior to their deployment.
Capital Safety has been manufacturing fall prevention equipment for more than 50 years and has developed training modules for all levels of experience and responsibility in the oil and gas industry.
