Central Petroleum is setting its sights on operations in Alice Springs, in Australia's Northern Territory after bringing a new drilling manager into the fold.
Central Petroleum is readying itself to begin work in the Northern Territory's hydrocarbon sector after appointing Timothy Green to the role of drilling operations and production manager.
Green has worked in the oil and gas industry for 35 years and has overseen operations in Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Angola, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and the US, working for the likes of Enterprise Oil, Texaco and Premier Oil.
In addition to his role as drilling manager, he has also held responsibility for assembling training drill teams and overseeing community development programmes.
He joins Central Petroleum from Premier Oil after spending seven years in India and Pakistan working for the company.
Central Petroleum has the biggest prospective acreage portfolio of any Australian energy firm, with the company operating over 60 million acres.
