China and Norway have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will see the two countries collaborate more closely to promote long-term environmental and energy security interests.
The MoU was penned earlier this month following a discussion of various environmental technologies and carbon capture processes.
Now, the two countries will look to expand their collaboration on training and development projects to promote environmental sustainability.
They will also work together to evaluate the effect that the operations of the oil and gas industry are having on the environment and mitigate them through the development of new technologies such as carbon capture.
The contract was signed by Norwegian deputy minister of petroleum and energy Liv Monica Stubholt and China's vice-chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhang Guobao on January 12th.
In a bid to measure and limit the effects of pollutants and emissions on the atmosphere, the State of Environment Norway conducts an array of evaluative operations across many sectors from climate change and ozone depletion to oil spill response.
