Denali Pipeline is to improve its training measures next year, according to its vice-president Bud Fackrell.
Mr Fackrell voiced his concerns over training and whether or not the company would have enough trained personnel to build the pipeline that goes through Alaska.
However, he added: "Fortunately, our owners, BP and ConocoPhillips, have had job-development programs underway for years and we hope to tap into this experience."
The vice-president revealed that Denali will work with the state of Alaska in job training.
He also said the workforce would not involve people in their 50s and that training efforts should be focused on those still at school.
When construction reaches its peak 10,000 workers on the Alaska section of the route will be required.
In other news, a book is to be released about governor Sarah Palin's disputes with ExxonMobil, BP and ConocoPhillips - Alaska's three biggest oil companies.
It is entitled Sarah Takes On Big Oil.
