If it goes ahead, a fifth cooperative agreement between Dow Chemicals and Kuwait's Petrochemical Industries Company will provide expanded training and development opportunities for domestic workers, Dow has confirmed.
In a statement, the group said that it would extend educational opportunities to Kuwaitis working around the world, in addition to encouraging the development of skills to be utilised by the domestic market.
"Kuwaitis who join K-Dow will have the chance to gain broad global experience - working with K-Dow customers and other partners in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America, in addition to the Gulf Region," the company insisted.
Meanwhile, Andrew Liveris, chairman and chief executive officer of Dow, said that each of the four previous cooperation projects with Kuwait had resulted in substantial gains for both the company and the country.
Elsewhere, Kuwaiti politician Dr Jamaan Al-Harbash has told the Arab Times that a deal with Dow must be brokered with public interest in mind.
