Dubai's national human resource development and employment authority, Tanmia, has this week reached a memorandum of understanding with the country's Ministry of Economy and the Dubai Industrial Academy (DIA) aimed at providing specialist training for native professionals working within the industrial sector.
Coming on the back of a seminar hosted by the three organisations, entitled 'Challenges and Objectives in the Industrial Sector', the decision was made to cooperate more closely in ensuring that more jobs within the booming oil and gas sector go to Dubai nationals.
Under the agreement, which was signed by Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of Tanmia, along with the country's minister for the economy Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori and the vice-president of Dubai Industrial City, Rashed Al Ansair, the private sectors will work in partnership with the state to promote emiratisation.
Notably, Tanmia will provide the government ministries with access to its database of qualified candidates, while the DIA will develop and provide tailored training programmes for jobseekers.
Mr Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer concluded: "Our common emiratisation goals will help us work together and achieve our target of providing suitable employment to hundreds of Nationals in the UAE's booming industrial sector."
