Petrofac achieved a 33 per cent rise in net profits in 2009, with its oil training services in Dubai's offshore industry providing support for growth throughout the year.
The company's annual results, published today (March 8th) show profits standing at $353.6 million, while revenue was up ten per cent at $3.655 billion.
"Overall, 2009 was another excellent year. We have delivered record results and a record order intake, which gives us outstanding revenue visibility for the current year and beyond," said Ayman Asfari, Petrofac's group chief executive.
In its operational highlights, the company praised the engineering, training services and production solutions division for its strong presence as a service operator in Dubai's offshore oil and gas industry, while a new contract with Apache also strengthened operations in the North Sea.
Petrofac has a training workforce of more than 450 personnel stationed across the globe. In 2008, more than 50,000 workers in the oil and gas industry completed Petrofac training courses.
