ETA Consultancy, a subsidiary of ETA Ascon, has extended its health, safety and environmental training programmes to the oil and gas industry and other key sectors.

The group, which has its foundations in construction, has moved to address the high fees that are paid by the oil and gas industry to bring in foreign training providers by utilising its own domestic HSE training facilities more widely.

Emirates Business also reports that property firm Nakheel is also offering its training expertise outside of its main industry, with its conflict resolution courses proving particularly popular.

Saeed Al Semaihi, training manager for corporate health and safety design and development at Nakheel PJSC, commented: "The one-day course provides employees with a foundation in conflict resolution and personnel safety when confronted with confrontational behaviour."

ETA's training and development programmes are recognised by the UAE ministry of labour, which aims to promote skills among UAE nationals by forging links between educational institutes and key industries.
