International multidisciplinary consultancy Ecology and Environment has revealed it is taking the advice of environmentalist Maurice Strong on its current operations.
Mr Strong's career highlights include serving as secretary general of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development.
This was, at the time, the largest ever meeting of heads of government worldwide and the first time different administrations had combined to create a global effort on climate change.
Having already assisted China on issues of the environment for four decades, the move sees Mr Strong advise Ecology and Environment on ecological issues.
Companies addressing their own oil and gas industry training could find the suggestions made by Ecology and Environment to be of interest.
The organisation explains that social and environmental issues are of growing importance in the industry.
For some, this could mean a renewed focus on such issues when addressing areas for attention in future oil and gas industry training projects.
