A new energy course is being created at an institution in Denver, Colorado.
The new Global Energy Management (GEM) degree at the University of Colorado Denver campus will train those in the sector, including those in the oil and gas industry, and will focus on how to solve issues.
As well as focusing on oil and gas, the course will also look at other areas of energy production including nuclear, coal and renewable forms such as wind and solar energy.
John Turner, director of the GEM master degree programme, said: "The Global Energy Management program at the University of Colorado Denver Business School is a master's degree program for those who wish to make the energy industry their lifelong career."
He added that the programme was the only one of its kind as it focuses on specific career aims.
The Denver campus is part of the Auraria Higher Education Center, which homes three institutions, also including Metropolitan State College and Colorado Community College.
