Enigma Data Solutions, a Sidcup-based company specialising in data archiving and backup, has business with 80 per cent of the world's oil and gas majors, according to managing director Peter Copley.
Speaking to Digital Energy Journal, Mr Copley explained that four out of five oil and gas firms call on their software and training to archive their geosciences data for the long term.
He explained that one of the major draws of Enigma's services is ease of implementation, with one recent deployment for a mid-sized oil firm with 60 geoscientists working on 100 projects completed inside 15 days.
Mr Copley added that there are still companies working in the oil and gas industry that do not have any archiving or backup procedure in place, despite rapid advances in geosciences technology.
The company specialises in archiving and backing up both three and four dimensional data, catering particularly to intricate and unique storage requirements of the oil and gas industry.
