ExxonMobil 'honoured' to be involved in QSTP
As the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) opens today (March 16th), ExxonMobil's senior vice-president Rex Tillerson has expressed his pleasure at being involved in the project.
Speaking ahead of the inauguration, he said that the company is committed to establishing the country as a global scientific and educational hub that will be a driving force in the fight to accommodate future energy demands.
"The research that emanates from QSTP and ExxonMobil will become part of the solution to develop economically and environmentally viable energy sources and we are very excited to be part of this new endeavour," he insisted.
ExxonMobil is one of 21 organisations to establish a presence in the groundbreaking research centre, with Mr Tillerson expressing his gratitude to Qatari authorities for allowing them to work so closely in the project.
Earlier this month, ExxonMobil announced that it will invest between $25 billion and $30 billion annually over the next five years in order to meet future energy demand.
