ExxonMobil has announced the 75 nonprofit organisations that will be involved in its annual Community Summer Jobs Programme (CSJP) in Dallas.
The initiative, which is in its 19th year locally and 38th nationally, was established to help undergraduates gain paid experience in the non-profit sector in order to enhance their education and contribute to the community.
"Education in the classroom is an important part of learning and development, but through the ExxonMobil CSJP, students are turning those lessons into real world action," said Robert Lanyon, corporate citizenship and community investments manager at ExxonMobil.
He added that it is an honour to have so many organisations involved in the scheme, ensuring that local students are given diverse opportunities to train in the voluntary sector.
The company has also this week commenced its Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day activities, which stress the importance of getting girls interested in the profession from an early age.
