Falck Nutec has unveiled plans for a new training centre to serve the Vietnamese oil and gas industry.
The group expects to take its first students in April this year and will focus on providing internationally recognised emergency response and safety training modules tailored to the needs of the energy sector.
"With this development those engaged in the industry will no longer have to look outside the country for the critical and specialised safety training that is needed for the expanding sector," said Wan Shukry, regional managing director of Falck Nutec's Far East Asian activities.
The new centre will be the first in the country to be accredited by OPITO, the UK-based training and competence certification standards academy and will expand on a current four-year training programme run by Mermaid Maritime Vietnam.
In other company developments, Falck Nutec also recently announced that it has acquired Onsite, which specialises in both onshore and offshore training services.
