Business leaders in the oil and gas industry need to continually expand their skill sets, Mohammad Ayoub, operations leader and Middle East region general manager at GE Oil and Gas has warned.
Speaking ahead of the graduation ceremonies of the company's inaugural university programme in Doha and Abu Dhabi, the spokesperson said that the training programme gave employees the opportunity to develop competences in both core and specialist areas to allow them to ascend the career ladder.
Piero Salvadori, president of Oil & Gas University said that he was delighted to integrate the course into its academic structure as it was of key regional importance.
Meanwhile, Yousef Omair Bin Yousef, chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, added: "Our industry is ever-evolving and new technology and best practices are being regularly introduced. The Oil & Gas University Programme allowed our associates at ADNOC to build on their expertise and fine tune their technical skills."
In operational news, GE Oil and Gas-owned business VetcoGray has recently announced that it will supply the drilling equipment for a large-scale project off the coast of Brazil which could see 50 new wells explored.
