GE has announced that it will establish a new base of operations for its Oil and Gas University programme in Qatar, recognising the need to nurture young talent in the country and the wider Gulf region.
The Oil and Gas University's main base of operations are in Florence, but following the success of courses there, the company has made the decision to establish a new training centre in Doha.
Gulf Times reports that the new training programme will focus on developing leadership skills and technical proficiency among young students.
Bill Alashqar, GE Infrastructure account executive, announced that the programme will focus on three core modules: leadership, energy, and oil and gas processes and rotating equipment.
The company has also this week celebrated the graduation of 26 students from 20 countries from its inaugural Oil and Gas University training programme, which is hosted at a dedicated learning centre at the company's Italian headquarters.
