GE Oil and Gas has been selected for a second time to provide technical services in support of the Gorgon project in Australia, one of the largest untapped natural gas fields in the world.
Following the announcement in October that GE would supply the LNG refrigeration and CO2 reinjection components for the Gorgon project, GE has this week confirmed that it has scooped a new multifaceted five-year contract.
"These further contract wins strengthen our partnership role in the project, confirming our technology leadership position which is built on a proven, diverse and integrated solutions portfolio," said GE Oil and Gas president and chief executive Claudi Santiago.
As well as boosting Australia's LNG output, Chevron have also maintained a commitment to supporting local communities in Western Australia through oil training and job creation programmes, with a particular focus on indigenous participation, regional business development and a reduction of labour importation.
