US energy training major GSE Systems has announced that its fossil fuelled power plant training simulation business is growing well, while its process simulation services are continuing to address the needs of the oil and gas industry.
In a revised annual statement, the company said that its fossil fuels arm has been expanding rapidly in the past three years as obsolete analogue plant controls are replaced with new digital systems, a process which requires substantial investment in retraining.
Meanwhile, GSE is continuing to enjoy success in the downstream oil and gas industry, with strong interests in the burgeoning refinery and chemicals sectors.
The company is also positioning itself to capitalise on renewed investment in the nuclear sector after years of dormancy.
"Over the last several years, the nuclear power industry has experienced a dramatic change and most energy experts believe the industry is on the verge of a renaissance," the company states.
In other announcements this week, GSE systems has confirmed that it has won a new contract to build nuclear training simulation facilities in Slovakia.
