The Gulf Technical and Safety Training Centre (GTSC) has proudly opened the first training well in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Built at a cost of $1.5 million (£949,500), the training well will allow workers in the region to hone their safety skills in a safe operating environment, the company announced.
"Opening our training well will bring many benefits to the regional oil and gas industry. Having the opportunity to experience operational working conditions means delegates will be far greater prepared for when they work on a 'live' rig," said GTSC corporate general manager Mario Nahas, speaking to Arabian Oil and Gas.
He added that the construction of the well is a testament to the company's dedication to the provision of high-quality safety training.
The GTSC has also recently been accredited by Opito for its Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training and Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training programmes.
