Germanischer Lloyd has been selected to provide consultancy services during the development of a new collection and processing plant for the Puguang gas field in China.

Working jointly from its regional bases in Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai, the company will advise Sinopec on the construction of the gas gathering facilities and the purification plant.

"The commissioning preparation includes development of the specifications, procedures, documentation and dossiers that will be used during the execution of the activities," Germanischer Lloyd commented.

During the contract, the company will also provide technical training support and advice to ensure long-term operational safety and efficiency.

This gas training will be of particular importance as the high content of hydrogen sulphide in the Puguang gas field make environmental and personal safety a paramount consideration.

Germanischer Lloyd has also this month celebrated its expansion in Malaysia after bringing Trident Consultants under its wing at its Kuala Lumpur base.
