Germany's RWE continued to achieve growth in its oil and gas industry operations with a focus on resource expansion and training to maximise returns on existing reserves.
In its annual statement to investors, the company announced that its workforce grew for the sixth consecutive year in 2009, with corporate commitment to oil and gas training and ongoing professional development extended further with increased investment.
"Our strategy for growth can only be implemented with the support of more well qualified and motivated personnel. Recruiting well qualified staff is therefore a very high priority for us," said the company's new chairman Thomas Rappuhn at a press conference held in Hamburg yesterday (March 17th).
Other operational highlights for the year included a series of encouraging exploration results in North Africa, increased stakes in oil and gas field in the UK, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
The company places technical proficiency at the core of its operations, while also maintaining rigorous health, safety and environment protocols.
