4 – 9th July 2010, Leh – Ladakh

Getenergy’s Chief Executive was invited to Leh, Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir State to speak at an inaugural meeting concerning the energy potential of the region. On the first morning of the event Phil Andrews met with HE. Mr M Hamid Ansari, Indian Vice President, to discuss the education and training challenges concerning the exploitation of new energy resources in remote communities. Throughout the event Phil Andrews was asked to contribute to the discuss and the formation of a report for the Indian Government on issues concerning the training, development and management of the energy resources in Ladakh. Phil worked with senior academics at Durham Energy Institute, Jammu Universities (organisers of the event) and the Vice President of Geoscience at ENI the Italian Oil Company to shape and formulate the programme of the event.

The report and a DVD of the discussions in Leh are due to be sent for the personal attention of the Indian Vice President.
