Green Dragon Gas has announced that the upstream operations, training and development carried out by its wholly owned subsidiary Greka Technical Services (GTS) is continuing apace in China.

Originally launched in November 2007, the company has hired a total of 116 employees with upstream operations and has carried out extensive training and development programmes to aid its continual expansion.

Most recently, this has resulted in the successful completion of its first vertical well and the drilling of two more in the Shizhuang South Block.

Meanwhile, commenting on the completion of its first horizontal well last month, GTS chief executive Mr Randeep S Grewal explained that, with extensive oil training and strategic US partnerships, the company had become a leading-edge drilling organisation.

He added that the training and development programmes have "prepared our new employees to meet global drilling efficiency and productivity standards".

This was a key milestone in GTS's 10-year roadmap for achievement.
