Gulfsands Petroleum has announced that oil production through the Khurbet East Early Production Facility has increased.
Production is now coming through three vertical and two horizontal wells with 500 barrels of 25.7 degree American Petroleum Institute oil per day being produced.
Initially, there was one KHE-4 vertical well but as of 5th September 2008 all five wells were operational.
There are only trace amounts of water.
Andrew West, chairman of Gulfsands, stated that the body had "achieved another significant milestone" and it "looks forward to the Khurbet East Field's continued contribution" to the production profile and cash flow of the company.
The full field production to date has been in excess of 260,000 barrels of oil.
Meanwhile, the produce is transported by trucks travelling 33 kilometres to a processing facility operated by the Syrian Petroleum Company.
Produce from the field will be sold as "Syrian heavy crude oil".
In other recent news, Total is due to sign for an oil block extension in Syria.
