HQ Global Education has announced a major new partnership with the Shangdong Shengli Maritime School in China.
Under the terms of the ten-year agreement, HQ Global will take charge of 13 training programmes at the school, receiving 80 per cent of revenues from the centre in return.
The centre currently boasts a student body of 2,000, but HQ Global will aim to increase this to up to 5,000 within five years.
The company said the new expanded training programmes will allow greater access to well-paid jobs in the offshore oil and gas sector, as well as on cargo vessels, liners and in shipbuilding yards.
"Without a doubt, the maritime industry will have an important place in HQ's future growth," said Guangwen He, chairman and chief executive officer of the company.
HQ Global Education expects its full-year revenues for 2010 to grow at least 25 per cent on 2009 results, according to its latest forecast.
