Computer distribution firm CODIS, a Bordeaux-based IBM subsidiary, is looking to gain a strong foothold in the Libyan marketplace with new headquarters in Tripoli and a technical training and development programme, the group's general manager Eddine Khannoussi has announced.
Commenting recently, he said that CODIS has been studying the domestic market for more than two years and the company now felt comfortable in setting up a new office in the capital.
"We have also tried to get the most global vision possible for the Libyan market in order to know and understand the needs of our consumers so we can answer them," he said.
Amine Allagui, technical and sales engineer for IBM Software & ISS Solutions, added that the company would be primarily focused on attracting new clients from the oil and gas industry, as well as the banking and telecoms sectors.
As part of its added-value service, the company will offer fully integrated technical training to ensure that its products are being utilised in the most productive and efficient manner.
