International Fire World (IFW) has announced that it will hold a gas training symposium in conjunction with the Beaumont Emergency Response Training centre (BEST) next month.
The Texas-based firm will launch two days of orientation training on March 24, which will include blaze demonstrations at the BEST facilities.
BEST operates both open enrolment and company-sponsored training courses that enable firms to meet regulatory commitments and accreditation requirements in the provision of fire safety training.
Speaking ahead of the training session next month, Mark Granger, health and safety coordinator for Cameron LNG, which is a BEST client, said that the course will focus on overcoming unconstructive breakdowns in communications that can severely impinge on fire response operations.
Common causes of these failures include time constraints and pressured scheduling in both the oil and gas industry and key emergency response services.
"It is better to make these acquaintances before the emergency, under ideal circumstances," he commented.
