IMO Qatar, a subsidiary of Aamal, has announced that it will open a new prefabricated pipe production plant and a training centre to enhance processing expertise in the oil and gas industry.
Speaking to the Peninsula, Yanni Fuad Jouaneh, chief operating officer of Al Faisal Holding, said that the plant will be built in Mesaieed Industrial City and will hope to add value to the downstream oil and gas market in Qatar.
"We will also be undertaking debottlenecking processes, modifications and small revamps," added Josef Angeli, board member of IMO Qatar.
He also said that while the company will in the initial phases focus on the Qatari market, there is the possibility that operations will be extended into Gulf Cooperation Council states in the future.
Aamal is currently embarking on a capital deployment programme which will seek to pursue growth in emerging downstream opportunities to diversify risk and increase shareholder value.
