Mumbai-based Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) has deployed resource planning software from SAP to ensure a sustainable rate of growth for its oil and gas portfolio.
CXO Today reports that the company was working to a tight schedule to install the system and ensure that all staff were trained to an appropriate level in using the software.
Shrikant Gathoo, general manager for enterprise-wide transformation at BPCL, explained that knowledge development was a key driving force behind the decision to invest in new software to handle its operations in the oil and gas industry.
The company is a leading player in the refining, packaging and distribution of petroleum products.
"Bharat Petroleum has taken radical steps to keep itself attuned to the changing times, realising that the future belongs to those who listen and adapt to their customers," said Mr Gathoo.
The company now runs a dedicated SAP Training Centre to ensure it remains a leader in its field.
