With recent studies revealing that employability levels among Indian graduates is now as low as ten per cent, a new training initiative aimed at providing emerging oil and gas professionals with specialist management skills has been launched.
Under the scheme to be operated by the Bangalore-based 24X7 Learning Solutions, graduates within the sector will benefit from industry-specific training content such as drilling engineering processes and health and safety issues.
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that 24XL has reached an agreement with India's state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to further extend its e-learning initiatives, with past demand having allowed the company to benefit from an 80 per cent growth in revenues and profits.
"ONGC is our first oil & gas sector client going for e-learning platform," Mr Karthik KS, the company's chief executive told DNA Money.
"Corporates spend about 0.5-1.5 per cent of their sales revenues annually on training employees and employability of youth is a concern for them. For us, this is a huge opportunity, as we will soon see entire corporate training moving into the realm of e-learning," he added.
