Invensys Operations Management has announced plans to expand its base of operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in order to support growth in the Gulf Coast region.
A statement from the company laid down plans for a new 14,000-square-foot office that will include an operational training centre to support ties with companies operating off the coast of Louisiana.
"Louisiana and the Gulf Coast are fundamental to the success of the North American petrochemical industry and manufactures one-quarter of the countrys petrochemicals, including basic chemicals, plastics and fertilisers," said Steve Blair, president of Invensys Operations Management for North America.
He added that the company will prioritise training of local workers to support the regional oil and gas industry and boost the state's economy.
The company has two dedicated training services firms in the US, Eurotherm and Wonderware, while Avantis, Foxboro, InFusion, SimSci-Esscor and Triconex provide additional learning services.
