Iran and Ecuador have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding oil.
As part of the agreement Iran will help upgrade Ecuador's refineries and will also train the South American's oil industry employees.
Iran's oil minister Gholam Hossein Nozari stated that training the Ecuadorian staff is one of the main points of the deal, which could interest those interested in a career in the sector.
Mr Nozari added: "Iran 's oil industry enjoys 100 years of scientific and experimental activities and currently the Iranian projects are being carried out by Iranian experts and specialists."
The construction of a new refinery in Ecuador will now be co-financed by Iran, Venezuela and the Latin American country.
All of the above are members of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec).
