Canadian oil and gas firm Keyera Energy has announced a new training agreement with the government of British Columbia.
As part of the deal signed yesterday (June 9th), Keyera will work with the Northern Lights and Lakeland colleges to deliver industry-focused training for Canadian students.
Commenting on the deal, Jim Bertram, president and chief executive of Keyera, said it is a strong example of the benefits of public-private cooperation.
"We at Keyera are very proud to be an industry leader in training and education and are excited about the opportunities to bring our competency management and development system (CMDS) to British Columbia," he added.
The CMDS has been designed to offer a competency-based approach to learning to ensure workers benefit from skills that are supportive of their key job requirements.
Courses are offered online, third-party audited and produce a competency skills profile for each individual trainee enrolled on the programme.
