Kuwait is set to boost national output considerably by focusing on expert training for its national workforce.
According to the Hindu Business Line, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the country's oil minister, declared that the country will aim to produce four million barrels of oil per day by 2016. By this time, gas output will also be boosted one billion cubic feet per day, the minister said.
Speaking in Qatar's capital Doha, Sheikh Al-Sabah said that the country's oil and gas strategy includes provisions for the training of national workers to manage operations both at home and abroad.
The minister also explained that the country is seeking to reduce gas emissions produced out of industrial operations and will ensure that all new projects are in accordance with strict emissions regulations.
Kuwait Petroleum Corp has also recently confirmed that all of its liquefied natural gas import operations are carried out in line with quotas and regulations laid down by the company's board of directors.
